Gary Bowyer complained of another frustrating afternoon as his Blackpool side drew 2-2 with Walsall at Bloomfield Road.

The Seasiders, once again, controlled much of the game but were forced to come from behind twice to seal a point to keep them two points ahead of the League One dropzone.

Joe Edwards handed the Saddlers a first-half lead only for Nathan Delfouneso to draw Pool level with a composed finish.

Jon Guthrie thought he had struck the winner when he tapped home after a mistake from Ollie Turton, but Armand Gnanduillet came off the bench to snatch a point for Bowyer's men.

The point, which Bowyer says could prove priceless come the end of the season, means Blackpool haven't won at home in their last nine outings.

Bowyer said: “It was another frustrating afternoon but one where, from an attacking point of view, we were very good with the number of chances we created and the number of attempts on goal.

“We worked their goalkeeper into three very good saves. We’ve had three cleared off the line and had a stonewall penalty not given.

“We conceded a goal from a corner when it went out for a throw.

“But I’m delighted with the way we went about it to get back in the game.

“The frustrating thing is we gave the ball away cheaply in our own half (for their first). Second goal it went out for a throw-in, but it was given as a corner.

“Once you concede the corner, you have to defend it. Ollie should just put his foot through it. We failed to go with Guthrie at the back post and he’s tapped it in.

“So it’s very frustrating from a defensive point of view. But attacking wise I thought we were very good and should have had more.

“We’ve had the majority of the game, the majority of the chances and the way we’ve gone about it has been right.”
