The game ended 1-1 after extra time, but the Warton crowd left Kellamergh Park ecstatic after seeing goalkeeper Ben Hinchliffe secure promotion via the play-offs.

The club, formerly Kirkham and Wesham, were in the bottom tier of the North West Counties League just seven seasons ago. Plans are now afoot for a new ground in Wesham close to the M55. Blackpool boxer Brian Rose (pictured) was among the fans at Saturday’s nailbiting game.
