The 24-year-old was confirmed as Town's first summer signing on Saturday, having agreed a two-year deal.

The facilities are Poolfoot Farm influenced Camps' decision to switch to Fleetwood after seven seasons at Rochdale.

And asked how big a factor head coach Barton was in his thinking, the Northern Ireland Under-21 international added: "Massive. When I came to meet him the first time, the way he spoke about football, all the stats and details that he goes through from the games, it’s obvious he wants everyone to get better and the team to progress, so that was a big factor in me moving here.”

Camps played in both League One games against Fleetwood last season, when Barton's side did the double over Dale, and he added: "The squad they have got already here is, on paper, a lot better than many teams in the league, so I feel like last season they missed out and probably should have gone up.

“I feel like everyone in the squad will be wanting to push on and go one better this year.

“The lads that are here are, from what I’ve seen, a close group and everyone seems sound, so I just felt I’d be comfortable and happy, and it will be somewhere I want to work.

“Having a load of people there who are nice to you obviously makes you feel welcome.

“Looking from the outside, it’s been a good club, a well-run club and the team they’ve got now is a good team.”
