AFC named a strong starting line-up but had only 14 players available and only two outfield men on the bench.

Sandbach took control from the start and it was no surprise when Stuart Tulloch gave them the lead in the 21st minute.

AFC keeper Callum Kirkland’s clearance kick with his weaker left foot went straight to Tulloch , who curled his shot home from 30 yards.

Billy McKenna shot just wide for AFC in the 34th minute but Sandbach remained in control until they had Matt Pearson sent off.

They deservedly held their lead until half-time but AFC came out with all guns blazing for the second half.

Despite losing captain Danny Pickering to injury, Blackpool pulled level on 63 minutes, when Zack Hargreaves was given far too much space and time on the edge of the box and beat keeper Ryan Moss with a low shot.

AFC dominated much of the final half hour but couldn’t force a winner. Moss saved a number of shots, one of which struck him in the face to deny Conah Bishop from close range.

Blackpool remain eighth but are now eight points outside the top six.

AFC still have seven to play but have no midweek match before a hectic end to the season begins with a trip to title-chasing Litherland REMYCA on Saturday.
