MATCH REPORT: AFC Blackpool 2 Daisy Hill 2

Blackpool had to settle for a point against a winless Daisy Hill side who had lost 6-0 to  AFC Liverpool in midweek but who battled hard in this entertaining Hallmark Security League clash at the Mechanics Ground.

The home side dominated much of the early play and it was no surprise when Conah Bishop opened the scoring from a corner in the 20th minute.

AFC pushed forward for a second but the Westhoughton club defended well and equalised from the penalty spot with the final kick of the half.

The referee pointed to the spot when keeper Alex Cameron rushed out and brought down a Daisy Hill player, though Blackpool protested that the ball would have gone out of play.

Cameron got a hand to Ryan Farnworth’s spot-kick but could not keep it out.

It got worse for the hosts when Connor Smith made it 2-1 just two minutes after the restart and manager Dave Worthington responded by bringing on Carnan Dawson and Elliot Dickson

AFC pressed for an equaliser but a goalmouth scramble resulted in Ben Fishwick being shown a red card.

The 10 men dominated theclosing stages and equalised 10 minutes from time, when another scramble ended with Ben Bradley poking the ball beyond keeper Ashley Hall.

The draw sees Blackpool drop a place to fifth in the first division ahead of Monday's 3pm home clash with leaders Carlisle City, who have won all six league fixtures and are the last unbeaten side.
