Writing his weekly predictions piece for BBC Sport, pundit Mark Lawrenson backed a comfortable 2-0 win for the hosts.

Discussing his prediction, the former Liverpool player explained: "Blackpool knocked West Brom out on penalties in the last round but they have not won in League One since before Christmas.

"So, I am going with Brighton to win the battle of the seaside resorts. I was very impressed with the way they beat Leeds at the weekend."

Last time the two sides met, back in 2015, a Jamie O'Hara goal for the Tangerines saw bottom-of-the-table Blackpool claim a 1-0 win over the Seagulls.

To reach the fourth round, Blackpool knocked out Eastbourne, Harrogate and West Brom, while Brighton got past League Two side Newport in their only game thus far.
