The former Everton defender became the club’s 12th signing of the summer, penning a 12-month contract with the Seasiders.
The left-back, who enjoyed a successful loan spell with Ipswich Town last season, was linked with a permanent move to Portman Road this summer, while Sunderland also registered an interest.

“The fact he has chosen Blackpool over a number of other interested clubs is a sign of how well the club is progressing. During my conversations with Luke, I felt his desire to come to Blackpool. I very much look forward to working with him as he will be a vital member of our squad.”
Garbutt, who can also play as a winger, made 30 Ipswich appearances last season, scoring six times.
He previously made over 100 appearances during loan spells with Oxford United, Wigan Athletic, Fulham, Colchester United and Cheltenham Town.
The former England Under-21 international left Everton this summer after 11 years and will compete with Demetri Mitchell and James Husband for the left-back spot.
