Most League One penalties awarded this season: How Blackpool compare to Bolton, Oxford United, Charlton, Derby & others

A League One table based on who has been awarded the most penalties - and converted them has been released.

League One sits in the middle of the English pyramid structure of professional football, and currently it's without VAR. The play-off finals are the only time that the technology is used, however there have been some decisions this season that fans, players and manager's alike haven't been happy over.

Penalties are one of the best opportunities to score, however the pressure is always on the taker, who has to score whereas the goalkeeper either needs to save their effort or hope they blaze it over the bar or on to the post. Blackpool have had a few penalties this season and on-loan Huddersfield Town striker Jordan Rhodes has been trusted with them, and why wouldn't he given he is the Tangerines top scorer? He's clinical from six-yards, and so you'd expect him in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper to come out on top. It's why there is a worry that he could be recalled in the January transfer window, and his goals would be hard to replace.

Spot-kicks can be won through a foul perhaps or a handball. It doesn't matter how you win them, all that matters is that you successfully convert your spot-kick so you can get your team on the scoreboard. You do have some cases however that teams just fail to get awarded them, and could go a long period of time without getting one.

But which team has won the most penalties in League One this season and how do Blackpool compare to their fellow third-tier rivals including Bolton, Oxford United and Derby County and more? Here’s all you need to know...
