The 24-year-old has spent two seasons at Highbury, joining initially on loan from Scottish champions Rangers

The Liverpudlian signed initially in July 2019 and didn't miss a match until a knee injury ended his season early in November.

Town showed their commitment to the midfielder throughout his rehabilitation, allowing him to stay at Poolfoot as he recovered despite them being within their rights to end his loan spell.

Rossiter signed permanently as his deal at Ibrox expired and has been key in the heart of the midfield breaking up play since, nearing 50 appearances for the club.

The new contract extends his stay for two more seasons, although the club did have an option for another season on his deal prior to the new agreement.
