Joey Barton hopes to help hungry Callum Camps to scale new heights at Fleetwood Town

Barton’s squad is a mix of hungry youngsters and seasoned professionals, and 24-year-old Camps is among the latest to move to Highbury with his best years ahead of him.
The Northern Irish playmaker, a summer signing from Rochdale, received the plaudits after bagging his seventh and eighth goals of the campaign in Saturday's 4-1 win at Bristol Rovers.

Hide AdHead coach Barton said: “Callum’s goals were fantastic. The first was a cracker, no doubt about it, but the second was even better.
“To chip the goalkeeper from that angle shows real quality and he’s been amazing for us so far this season.
“You just want players to come in, enjoy their football, do well and improve, and if they do that then you will pick up more points than you drop.
“That’s our job really to help their careers reach the highest heights they possibly can.

The Cod Army had not only to beat Rovers at the Memorial Stadium but also the Bristol elements, with horrible showers throughout the afternoon.
But Barton joked that storms were second nature for his side and praised his players for sticking to the task in hand.
“We’re used to it because on the Fylde coast we get all kinds of different weather conditions,” he added.

“The Fylde weather is weird and wonderful at times. We had to trust our game plan and stick to it.
“It was a really commanding performance. You know you have to deal with the elements but we dealt with them superbly.
“They got their goal and had a five-minute salvo off the back of that but we dealt with it in a professional manner.”
