Manager Bentley was unhappy at the goals the Coasters conceded, though they gave the Grecians a scare.

He said: “I don’t like losing and haven’t been used to it since we have come back. We are pleased with the way it’s going. We feel we’re going to get better.

“We were up against a form side at League Two. This is a fantastic place to come to and we really played well but I’m disappointed with the goals we conceded.

“We had an early warning from set-play. We put rules and responsibilities on the board and you want players to carry out their jobs.

But we played well after that. We took the lead with a great finish by Jordan Hulme. I don’t think he got any protection all game but he looked a threat .

“My main thing is that if you are going to do well as a team we have to demand more of each other. It’s no good coming from the sideline from me and Chaddy (assistant Nick Chadwick).

“It’s about stopping crosses, getting over people and getting your own house in order. We gave two goals away and that’s why we lost, but on a performance level I thought we were excellent.”
