GTF's best five moments for Blackpool

Former Pool talisman Gary Taylor-Fletcher signed for Accrington at the beginning of October on non-contract terms and scored on his first start in their 4-1 Checkatrade Trophy win against Chesterfield.

He was then an unused substitute in last Saturday's 1-1 draw against Cheltenham.

In 2007, Taylor-Fletcher signed for Blackpool for an undisclosed fee in a two-year deal and went on to make 215 appearances.

He went on to make a number of impressive appearances for the Tangerines and will go down in folklore for the contribution he made to the side.

Here, we take a look at GTF's best five moments for Blackpool:

1) Finding the back of the net in the play-off final

Taylor-Fletcher played a crucial role in getting Blackpool to the Premier League for the first time after scoring in the historic 3-2 win against Cardiff at Wembley. Taylor-Fletcher struck the post from 20 yards after 39 minutes but a minute later he stabbed home from a corner after Mark Kennedy had cleared Ian Evatt's initial effort off the line. Brett Ormerod later went on to grab the winner and the rest is history.

2) Scoring Blackpool's first-ever Premier League goal

Just months later, fans of the Premier League newcomers were in dreamland when they opened their account with a stunning 4-0 away win at Wigan to momentarily take them to top of the league. GTF struck early on to hand his side the lead, as he showed composure to score at the far post following a Marlon Harewood cross.

3) Notching at Old Trafford

Unfortunately Blackpool's stay in the Premier League lasted for just one season, but it was certainly a memorable one. After Charlie Adam had cancelled out an early opener from United with a trademark free-kick, Taylor-Fletcher handed Pool the lead with a glancing effort that went into the net off the post. The goal gave Blackpool fans hope of a miraculous last-day survival, but it wasn't to be as they eventually went down to a 4-2 defeat against the Premier League champions.

4) Offering a helping hand as Blackpool secure league survival

GTF found the back of the net in a 2-1 home win against Derby which secured their Championship status in 2013. Taylor-Fletcher's close-range effort handed Blackpool the lead before being pegged back by Ben Davies. But the home crowd were sent into raptures when Ludovic Sylvestre netted a dramatic 91st minute winner. The result took the Tangerines up to 15th in the Championship and mathematically safe from relegation.

5) Scoring at home to Arsenal

Despite going down 3-1 to the title challengers, Taylor-Fletcher will look back fondly on this game after scoring against Arsene Wenger's men. Having found themselves 2-0 down with two goals in three minutes from Abou Diaby and Emmanuel Eboue, GTF then pulled a goal back from close range, and found himself in the thick of the action once again when he was caught by Laurent Koscielny's trailing leg in the area. It looked a certain penalty but to the home supporters' fury the referr waved play on.
