Grezza hails full-blooded Town display

You’ve got to keep believing and keep going and we have done.

“We’ve believed in every one of them.

“I thought we had a better competitive edge - we played with full blood and that’s what got us on the front foot.

“To score four goals away from home is very pleasing and the players deserve nothing less because they’ve been superb.”

Clarke’s opener was controversial, Fleetwood feeling there was a handball in the build up.

But Alexander was delighted with the heart shown by his team.

He said: “It’s always a tough place to come and Bury are a good team, David (Flitcroft) has put together a good team.

“To be given a goal in the fourth minute - I’m not going to talk about it because it takes the shine off the players - but to go behind to a goal like that was extremely disappointing.

“We got equal, we go behind again. But the players’ hearts, their energy, their belief in each other was there for all to see.

“It was a superb performance.”

And the Town boss was pleased to see his players keep putting themselves in the firing line.

“It would have been easy to think negatively,” he said.

“We haven’t had results but we’ve been playing good stuff, creating opportunities. We just had to keep getting players into those positions.

“They did it tonight. They put themselves there to be shot at if they missed. But I told them they have to take failure, take the hits and just keep getting there and that’s what they did.”

“It’s only three games in but that’s a fantastic results.

“Every player has a bruise, a few are bleeding but that’s what it takes to win games.”

“With that you’re going to give away chances.

“But it’s part of what we want to do.

“We believe we’ve got players who can score goals and they’ve shown that.”
