In the Premier Division, there was a Gledhill Cup final preview on show as Layton Seniors took on Blackpool South.

It was a battle from the word go as Blackpool South were reduced to 10 men but they recovered well to win 3-2 with Karl McLeod (2) and Adam Richards on target.

Highfield Social went second with a 6-1 win over FC Fleetwood thanks to Jordan Spedding (2), Andy Duckworth, Robbie Hume, Andy Harvie and David Morris, while Tom Masterson netted the consolation for FC Fleetwood.

Clarence FC took on Bloomfield Brewhouse in a feisty game with several players booked.

It was Bloomfield who came out on top with a 3-0 win thanks to goals from James Hughes and Alan Greenwood (2).

In division one, Marton FC climbed into second place with a 3-1 victory at Kirkham and Wesham by way of goals from Jordan Casey, Jake Roper and Josh Whitaker while Rick Tomlinson netted a consolation.

Belle Vue picked up their first win of the campaign as they beat AFC Broadwaters 5-2 thanks to Rob Pye, Jason Jewitt, Nick Clark and Joe Caton (2).

Danny Hadgraft and Adam Fishwick helped Little Black Pug draw 2-2 with AFC Jacinta.

Unity Rangers beat AMS Car Care 4-1 with Connor Robinson, Ryan Boothman and Joe Howarth (2) scoring as Rob Heritage netted a consolation.

In division two, FC Rangers had a 4-0 win over H&A Club, Jayden Marsh with a hat-trick and Ben Coulthard completing the scoring.

West Coast Sports kept the pressure on FC Rangers with a 2-1 win at Freckleton via Gavin Kelly and Chae Salvador.

Highfield FC moved off the bottom with Tom Egan (3) and Dan Steadman giving them a 4-0 win at Marton Athletic.

Elsewhere, FC Ciao Ciao beat New Philly 2-1 , Fleetwood Gym saw off Highlands FC 4-0 and 21st Century Windows won 4-1 at Marshall Court.

The West Lancashire League’s committee was due to meet on Tuesay to discuss the resumption of its season in the New Year.

It follows Friday evening’s dramatic decision by the Lancashire FA to cancel all grassroots football for December in eight of its boroughs (including Preston and all areas east) after consultation with public health officials and other authorities.

Although clubs in Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde are allowed to play on the WLL decided to call off all Saturday’s scheduled games and to play no more this month.

Fylde coast clubs affected include WLL premier division sides Blackpool Wren Rovers, Lytham Town, Poulton and Thornton Cleveleys.
