Fylde coast football review: Sunday Alliance and West Lancs League

Appletree twice threw away a two-goal lead but managed to hold out in the end, with Luke Robinson (2), Juan Jiminez, Lewis Phillips and Samuel Witter grabbing their goals. Meanwhile Ben McKay (2), Darren Cleland and Robert Gradwell were on the scoresheet for 21st Century.

The Saddle are fifth in the premier division after they pipped bottom side S Royle Roofing in another nine-goal thriller.

Will Robinson scored two, while further goals came from Marco Cobb, Bradley Gill and Mark Robinson. Karl and Shane McLeod scoredtwo each for Roofing.

Ryan Bradley and Cory Sellars scored as AFC Rangers beat Kinsfield 2-0, while Wrea Green drew 3-3 with Eurotech thanks to goals from Ben Barrow, Kevin Beig and Ryan Micklethwaite.

Blackhurst Budd were in Lancashire Cup action and goals from Ric Seear (2), Nick Greenall and Danny Morris saw them overcome Broomheads Estate Agency 4-1, with Kenny Cram netting the consolation from the spot.

AFC Additions went through 5-1 against The Donkey in Rochdale thanks to goals from Dean Richards (2), Sion Kenyon, Antony Smith and Nathan Hine. A&P Autos lost 5-0 to Hunters.

In the Gledhill Cup, Clifton beat first division opposition in Edwardian 6-2 thanks to goals from Kieran Rimmington (2), Alex Edwards (2), Adam Heaney and Daniel Rapley. Ashley Casey and Jamie Cathie replied.

In division one, Paul Gaskell scored five as Shovels went top with their 9-1 win at Highfield Social. Tyler Atack, Jack Errington, Adam Naylor and Kurtis Trinder completed the scoring for Shovels, while Peter Clarkson bagged Highfield’s goal.

Barry Davenport, John Gee and Ben Perry-Acton scored as Bloomfield Brewhouse beat New Albert 3-1 to go third, Tom Docherty replying.

A Philip Smith hat-trick saw Wyre beat AFC Jewsons Blackpool 4-2. Kevin Murray also scored, while Sam Bannister netted both for Jewson’s.

Anchorsholme and Wesham played out an entertaining 4-4 draw. Ryan Ayrton, Rick Fisher, Dwayne Greenwood and Dean Smithen bagged Wesham’s goals.

Steve Bonser and Sean Roberts scored for Chris Allen Garages in their 3-1 win at Swift Hound, for whom Ste Betteridge scored the consolation.

The Links went top of division two with a 4-1 win at Kirkham Town, Alex Cameron leading the way with a hat-trick. Stephen Oberman was also on target, while Rian Macdonald scored Town’s goal.

The Bridge are second after four goals from Connor Riley set them on their way to a 10-3 win against Metrostars. There was also a brace each for Simon Annetts and David Collett, while Ryan Nixon and David Whyte completed the scoring. Carl Hughes, Greg Paul and Michael Morcombe scored for the Stars.

A Michael Crossland hat-trick and goals from Nitisat Sirisom (2), Jason Dean and Tom Pendlebury lifted Bridge to third with a 7-0 win against Marshall Court.

Sam Brinkworth and Dale Williams scored to give the George a 2-1 win against Lane Ends, for whom Gavin Martin hit back.

Up-Rite Scaffolding beat Highlands 7-2 to leapfrog their opponents in the table. Adam Fishwick scored a hat-trick, Sam Daniels got two and Jack Orme and Mark Dorrans also scored. Daniel Dean and Chris Jackson shared the consolations.

Team of the month Blackpool Wren Rovers kept up the pressure at the top of the West Lancashire League with a 4-0 win away to third-placed Fulwood Amateurs.

The goals were shared between Joe Booth, Danny Morris, Nick Corless and Carl Eastwood – with the final two in the closing moments

The win leaves Rovers just two points behind leaders Longridge Town, who edged a tight affair against Lostock St Gerards 2-1.

Wrens were named premier division team of the month for September and captain Chris Morris is pictured above receiving the award from league secretary John Brown.

Also in the top flight, Garstang secured a priceless 1-0 win at Thornton Cleveleys via an Alan Coar goal five minutes after half-time.

There was no league action in division one, with sides taking part in cup competitions.

In the President’s Cup, Poulton won their first round tie 3-0 against Dalton United courtesy of a brace from Andy Harvie and a goal from Adam Sharrock.

Wyre Villa also made it through with a 4-2 win at Askam United.

Keigan Parker bagged a brace, while Max Landless and Danny Wilson also found the back net. Ryan Brown and Callum Rayner scored Askam’s goals.

Lytham Town were knocked out of the Lancashire Amateur Shield in the first round, going down 4-2 to premier division Vickerstown.
