The former Southend United star, a big money signing in the summer of 2013, has joined League Two Northampton Town for an undisclosed fee, bringing to an end frustrating Highbury stay.

Cresswell was brought in to partner Mark Roberts at the heart of the Fleetwood defence, Town chairman Andy Pilley carrying out a relentless pursuit of the centre half.
