Holgate was restored to the starting XI and played in the back three alongside James Hill and Callum Connolly.

Holgate said: “I feel I’ve been doing well in the games, though I could have defended better from set-pieces in the games before I came out of the team. I came out, had the rest and put the work in on the training ground.

“I’ve never played in a first-team derby, so it will be massive if I can play in that.

“The main thing is that the team is coming off three wins and three very solid performances. We just need to take that confidence into the game and hopefully get the win.”
