Burns is one of the longer- serving players in the Cod Army squad, now in his fourth season after a move from Bristol City.
The 26-year-old has made over 150 appearances for Town and revealed this week that talks have begun over a new Highbury deal.

He said: “I don’t want to go massively into the contract talks – it’s between me and Fleetwood.
“Talks have opened up over the last few weeks but that’s about as much as I’ll comment on it.
“I’ve always played one game at a time. I don’t really look too much beyond next week or the week after that.

Town’s number seven made his comeback as a substitute in Saturday’s draw with Charlton Athletic and came off the bench again in Tuesday's defeat at Sunderland.
Burns will certainly have a part to play for new boss Simon Grayson in a congested run-in, but for now he’s just relieved to be fit again and able to show what he can do.
He added: “It definitely makes a difference when you go into the contract negotiations. There is some indecision (if you aren’t playing), but if you’re out there and showing what you can do, then you can prove that you deserve a new contract.”
