The Reds academy product has been with the club since U11s level and featured twice for the first team last season, against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup and in the FA Cup against Shrewsbury Town.

It will be Boyes' first taste of football away from Merseyside but the 19-year-old Welshman is excited to get going for the Cod Army.

Speaking to The Gazette, he said: "It's a great club and it's a great feeling to join a club like this.

"First team football is what you want, especially joining a club like Fleetwood at a level like League One, it's what you want.

"For me personally, the aim is just to play as many games as possible, learn as much as possible and more importantly try and win as much as possible.

"I wanted to come here on how big the club is and how they play football.

"I like their style of play and what they're aiming for and stuff like that. It really roped me in.

"When you think about League One you think it could be a bit of this or that, but when you arrive here and see the facilities and the staff and the place, you think this is the real deal.

"I've spoken to the manager, he's really excited, like me, and can't wait to see me in a Fleetwood shirt and getting playing."
