A special birthday card and a signed photograph of their Highbury hero are among the treats junior Fleetwood fans can look forward to on joining the Fleetwood Town Official Supporters’ Club.

Pictured here are Elliott Barton and Nathan Mitchell, two young supporters whose big day last month was made extra-special by a card and photo autographed by their favourite player, Alex Cairns and Paddy Madden respectively.

It’s among the popular ideas which have helped the FTOSC to grow locally and internationally since it was formed over 18 months ago.

In recent weeks, The Gazette has featured some of those members following Fleetwood from afar, such as the American VanderClute family, Niels De Puydt and his fellow fans in the FTOCS Belgian branch and Malta-based Michael Wright.

The supporters’ club awards its own player of the month trophy, makes a presentation to each player who completes 100 games and awarded its first player of the season award to Wes Burns almost a year ago.

The club also helps the FTOSC to develop by donating signed balls and shirts, as well as VIP matchday packages as raffle prizes. And members who wish to be matchday mascots receive a discount.

Birthday boy Nathan Mitchell, an eight-year-old pupil at Royles Brook Primary School in Thornton Cleveleys, also presented the FTOSC player of the month award for February to Harry Souttar.

Nathan’s mum Gemma said: “Nathan had a wonderful week. Receiving his birthday card and presenting Harry with his trophy was the best present he could have wished for.”

FTOSC chairman Bernard Noble told The Gazette: “Once normality has returned we will continue to help the FTOSC grow.

“The FTOSC is an integral part of Fleetwood Town FC and we will go further in order to meet one of our main objectives of bringing the fans closer to the Football Club.”

Bernard thanks sponsors Media Signs Print of Bispham and the club for their assistance with the birthday cards.
