Sheridan steered Town to their first win at home since October with a 2-0 win over Northampton Town a week last Saturday.

After making it three wins on the spin with a 1-0 victory at AFC Wimbledon, Sheridan is eager to extend his six-match unbeaten run.

Three points against Bristol Rovers today will take Town to 51 points which should be enough to secure safety this season.

He said: “We go into the game trying to win the game and I expect us to win the game because we are at home.

“They are another good team but whoever we are playing, especially at home, I expect us to win.”

Town picked up their fourth clean sheet in a row with Good Friday’s 1-0 win in the capital thanks to Jack Sowerby’s first-half effort.

While that defensive record pleases Sheridan, he is not getting too carried away with their recent run of results.

He said: “That is the sign of a good team, four clean sheets on the spin.

“We are unbeaten in six and we just have to continue the form we are in.

“But it is only six games and I know what football is like.

“You can be up and down, a good manager when you are winning and everyone thinks you are brilliant and then, when you are losing, you don’t have a clue what you are talking about.

“I won’t change too much whether we are winning or losing.

“I try and keep my feet on the floor and I applaud my players because they deserve the credit.”

Although Town have fielded an unchanged team in the last three games, the manager won’t rule out freshening up his team 72 hours after their last outing.

He said: “It is common sense if we are on a run.

“I won’t be changing too much but the games are close together.

“One or two looked tired; we have got to be wary of that.”
