Town followed a 0-0 draw against Bristol Rovers with a 3-1 win over Doncaster on Tuesday to start off his reign.
Grayson has opted for a 3-5-2 formation and feels his side are getting to grips with what he wants from that shape.

“The players probably took a little too literally what we wanted them to do and Tuesday was a step in the right direction.
“They all got a little bit more familiar with how we’re doing it.
“You have to do work in the classroom, you have to do work out on the pitch and hopefully they take on board that they can improve on the last performance.

“Even before I came to the football club, you look at Fleetwood’s squad and there were some talented players, and it was about finding the way to get them all firing again, whatever system it was going to be, and heading in the right direction.”
At the end of the day, while Grayson has his particular system preference, the most important thing is it suits the players at his disposal.
He said: “I’ve always liked playing two at the top end of the pitch because I think they can be a threat.

“That isn’t to say we’re not going to play one up front at times, I can change it around.
“I do like to have two strikers in whatever system you are in.
“I think the three at the back gives you the ability to keep the ball, but when I think about it, the biggest thing is the system you play has to complement the group that you’ve got.

“I feel our players are flexible and can go and play a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2 as well.”
