Fleetwood Town are handed a home tie with Port Vale in the Carabao Cup second round
Fleetwood Town could host either Everton or Salford City in the third round of the Carabao Cup following the draw for the competition's next two stages.
That is the incentive for defeating Port Vale when the two sides meet at Highbury in the second round of the competition next week.
The draw was carried out on Sunday afternoon, 24 hours after Town came through their first round meeting against Wigan Athletic with a 3-2 win.
For their part, Vale progressed thanks to a 2-1 victory at Scunthorpe United.
Round two’s matches are due to be played on September 15-16 with the third round taking place the following week.
