Fleetwood boss Pressley tailor-made for Wembley

Fleetwood boss Steven Pressley has an unusual incentive for keeping Fleetwood Town’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy run going – a visit to the tailors.

Town face Morecambe at Highbury in the northern semi-final tomorrow, with the winners to play Barnsley over two legs.

Victory over the Shrimps would leave Pressley’s side just one step away from a trip to Wembley and the manager is keen to lead the Cod Army faithful back to the scene of their 2014 play-off final triumph over Burton.

And should he do so, the Scot knows he will be dressed to impress.

Pressley said: “The turnout of support for Sheffield United in the last round was really encouraging for a Tuesday night.

“I think the fans are beginning to get a little bit excited about us progressing.

“They have really fond memories of going to Wembley, as do a lot of our players,.

“It would be lovely to be able to go back there.

“The chairman has also promised me a new suit if we get there.”

Like Blackpool, Town were without a match on Saturday due to their first-round exit from the FA Cup.

Wigan and Barnsley were in the same situation and so played their JPT semi at the DW Stadium, where the hosts twice came back from behind to draw 2-2 only for the Tykes to win 4-2 on penalties.
