Uwe Rosler wants Fleetwood fans to carry on where they left off at fortress Highbury and maintain an intimidating atmosphere for Northampton this afternoon.

In their last home game, Town staged another blockbuster under the floodlights to fight back from a goal down to beat Bradford City 2-1.

Rosler wants more of the same today, insisting fan power can be an advantage as his fourth-placed side bid to stretch their unbeaten run in League One to 17 games.

The head coach said: “I think the atmosphere at home and away gets better and better. I’m not just saying that to please the supporters – I’m saying it because I mean it.

“I think the atmosphere that we had against Bradford was fantastic. The ground is small but can be intimidating and the crowd can push the players to the limit.

“I think we feel comfortable playing at Highbury and confident in front of our home crowd. More often than not we get positive results and we work very hard to keep that going.”

Rosler says Town are in their own little bubble at their Poolfoot Farm training base and focused on the task in hand.

Town’s unbeaten run is matched only by Manchester United in the top four tiers but Rosler said: “I don’t hear the players or coaches talking about it. We are just aware of where we are and seeing the possibilities that position brings. We also know that any team can beat anybody in this league, and that we need to be at our best or close to our best to give ourselves a chance.”
