The midfielder rattled the crossbar with a quarter of an hour remaining - Town's best chance of a frustrating afternoon.

The introduction of new boys Devante Cole and Alex Kiwomya turned the game in Fleetwood's favour - a welcome injection of pace and a little invention.

The two nearly combined to strike a crucial blow, Kiwomya breaking to the byline and pulling the ball back across the face, Cole sliding in seconds too late to make the difference.
