Ched Evans signs for Preston North End on loan deal from Fleetwood Town
Evans had recently been involved in a public falling out with former Town boss Joey Barton, as the 38-year-old announced that the Welshman would no longer be considered for the first team squad.
The Cod Army's no.9 had been an important player since his arrival at Highbury, scoring 37 times in 99 games since joining initially on loan from Sheffield United in 2018.

Evans also has just six months remaining on his contract with Fleetwood so this deal will see him potentially end his time with the club, if an extension cannot be agreed.
Fleetwood do still like the 32-year-old and would have kept him at the club had there not been a falling out, which then attracted the interest of Championship side Preston.
The departure of one of their main striking options may now mean that Fleetwood have to step into the transfer market, though they would be doing so without their director of football and a permanent manager.
