Bowyer's warning to Blackpool squad

The Millers head into Saturday’s game already guaranteed of a play-off spot, as they sit in fourth place on 76 points.

This could present manager Paul Warne with the opportunity to rest some of his key players, but Bowyer expects a tough test whatever side Warne decides to put out.

“I don’t think it matters what team they put out or what formation they play,” he said.

“You look at their squad, the size and quality of it; we know it’s going to be a tough game.

“It’s all about us and how we go about it. We played Shrewsbury last week who are in the play-offs as well so we’re aware of what type of game it might be.

“But we all have something to go and prove and something to play for.

“At the end of the day, they came here and beat us. We were very good against them first half but second half we got done. So you always want to try and get that back.”

The Seasiders might have nothing to play for when they head to Rotherham’s New York Stadium this weekend, but Bowyer still wants his players to go out on a high.

He added: “This is the last game to take into the summer with you, so I think the majority of the coaching staff’s wives are desperate for it to be a successful game. Otherwise they’re going to have grumpy husbands throughout the summer.

“In all seriousness, the last thing you will remember during the summer will be Saturday’s performance and result.

“We’re unbeaten for a while now and we want to keep that going.

“We will have a good following again because it’s the last game of the season and the away support has been fantastic for us.

“I’m sure one or two will be in fancy dress as well.

“You saw the atmosphere that was generated by the Shrewsbury fans last week with all that so we’ve got to go there and do ourselves justice again.”
