Blackpool's 1-1 draw against Peterborough United came just hours after Bowyer’s Fleetwood Town counterpart Uwe Rosler was sacked following their dismal 3-0 defeat at Doncaster Rovers. It came after Town slipped to their seventh straight defeat on Saturday

That 3-0 loss meant goal difference alone is now keeping Fleetwood above the League One relegation zone.

That was enough for chairman Andy Pilley to make the decision to end Rosler’s stint as head coach after little over 18 months.

Rosler is someone Bowyer knows well and he firmly believes the German won’t be out of the game for too long.

“It’s the same for any manager when they lose their job, it’s not a pleasant time,” Bowyer added.

“I’m sure Uwe will take time to reflect and it won’t be long until he finds himself back involved in football again.”

One or two have speculation that, given the current off-the-field situation at Bloomfield Road, Bowyer might be tempted to make the move up the Fylde coast.

When asked if he would have any interest in the vacancy, Bowyer laughed off the question before declining to comment.

"Next question" was his only response.
