Bowyer: Failure to keep clean sheet only disappointment

The Shrimps scored a late consolation goal through Antony Evans but it failed to take away the gloss from Pool's comfortable home win - their first at Bloomfield Road since November.

Pool’s first goal came via a glancing header from Mark Cullen, although Brad Potts - who provided the cross - claimed the ball went straight in without getting a touch.

But there was no questioning who claimed Pool’s second, with Potts driving home following a swift counter attack.

Bowyer said: “You’ll have to try and separate them because I’m not going to get involved in that one.

“Whatever it was, it was a fabulous ball in from Pottsy and whether Cully has got a touch on it I don’t know - and in that particular moment I didn’t really care.

“It was a great counter-attacking goal from us for Pottsy’s goal (to make it 2-0) and then we had opportunities before we got our third where we should have put the game to bed.

“Jordan Flores should have scored, Armand (Gnanduillet) should have gone and scored and that’s probably the only disappointing thing about it as well as not keeping a clean sheet.”

Bowyer also revealed Kyle Vassell broke his foot during Tuesday night's 2-2 draw against Barnet and is expected to face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Jamille Matt, meanwhile, missed a late fitness test before Saturday's game.
