Blackpool's youth team capped off a memorable season by picking up the North West Youth Alliance league title courtesy of an impressive 3-0 win against Morecambe.

The young Seasiders only needed a point to clinch their first league title since 2014 but they recorded a comfortable home win to clinch a league and cup double.

Ciaran Donnelly’s side didn’t have it all their own way though, as goalkeeper Jack Sims made yet another crucial penalty save to keep his side level with the score 0-0.

But Blackpool’s nerves were calmed halfway through the opening period when Will Dunne handed them the lead with a close-range volley.

The game was put to bed at the start of the second half thanks to goals from Ben Jacobson and Ewan Bange.

This is the second piece of silverware Ciaran Donnelly’s side have picked up this season after lifting the Lancashire FA Youth Cup last month after beating Bury on penalties in the final.
