The 31-year-old arrives at Bloomfield Road as a free agent, having amassed close to 400 Football League appearances over the past decade.

Having started his career in non-league football, the Londoner played more than 100 league games for Bournemouth before lengthy stints at Millwall and Bolton.

Feeney spent the last two seasons at Blackburn, making 44 appearances before his release in the summer.

He last played for Rovers 12 months ago, then was loaned for Cardiff and made 15 Championship appearances in a season which ended in promotion to the Premier League.

Feeney will take the number 24 shirt and his contract includes the option of a further 12 months.

Blackpool's interim boss Terry McPhillips said the club had been working on the deal for a while. "That has been happening for a few weeks now. Obviously he was at Blackburn with myself and Gary (Bowyer)," he said.

"We know him as a person. We know what he offers the team and the squad and we're really pleased to sign him."
