The 23-year-old has earned plenty of plaudits since joining Blackpool on loan back in January.

His clean sheet in the 0-0 draw at MK Dons on Saturday was his sixth for the Seasiders in the 12 games he has played.

Lumley is highly rated by his parent club QPR and he will no doubt return to Loftus Road in the summer looking to make the number one spot his own.

But he is currently either second or third choice under Ian Holloway and moving on loan was the only route to regular first-team football.

“I love it here, I just love playing football,” Lumley said.

“I was on the bench at QPR for the first half of the season. Don’t get me wrong, I love learning and watching the game because it’s a great standard.

“But I wanted to be on the pitch, I wanted to be playing.

“So it’s good to be playing for Blackpool and I’m enjoying getting clean sheets. That’s what I’m here to do.

“Between now and the end of the season I just want to keep as many clean sheets as I can to try and help the team. Hopefully that will see us pick up some more points.

“The season is not over yet so we keep working hard every day. We will treat every game the same.

“We go into the Easter period treating both games like we treated the game at MK last week to try and pick up some more points.

“Last week we were happy to get a clean sheet and a point away from home. We’ll take that heading into the two games over the Easter period where we will try and get a few more points.”
