Blackpool leave Lyness waiting as deal stalls again


The 24-year-old goalkeeper impressed in a loan spell at Bloomfield Road at the end of last year, keeping clean sheets in seven appearances, including wins over Peterborough United, Wigan Athletic and Fleetwood Town.
Pool were keen to bring Lyness in permanently and tabled a bid for Lyness early in the January transfer window, before agreeing terms with the keeper.

Hide AdBut Brewers boss club seems less than impressed that a deal hasn’t been done.
“We thought it was almost there and then Blackpool changed their minds at the last minute,” said the Albion manager.
“He’s still hoping that it might come about but if not, then Dean’s available for loan or whatever to go and get some games.”
“I think that was the case but whether we’ve gone too far down the line now I’m not sure.”

Hide AdWhile Blackpool manager Neil McDonald refuses to talk about any Lyness deal, Clough revealed last week the move was hanging on current Blackpool number two Kyle Letheren leaving the club.
Something the Burton boss feels is still the case.
He explained: “That was the case and we’re going to chase Blackpool this week.
“He’s speaking to them, or his agent is, as to the situation there.”
Lyness has made 51 appearances for the Brewers in three-and-a-half years, but has not featured this season.
