Blackpool have so much still to play for says Bowyer

But Pool, who now sit on 56 points following three straight home wins, still have everything to play for according to their boss Bowyer.

“We’ve got to keep on now and have a right good go at Gillingham,” he said.

“We’ve got nine points to play for. The people from our generation, we’ve been brought up to try and win no matter what you play. So that’s what we’ll do with these next three games.

“We’ll try and beat Gillingham and after that we’ll have another fantastic game here at home against Shrewsbury, who are pushing for promotion.

“From what I hear there’s going to be 2,500 or so Shrewsbury fans coming and they will be looking to celebrate promotion. At the same time, we’ll be wanting to try and win that game.

“Finally we go to Rotherham for the final game and that’s a team I used to play at, so that’s another game I want to win as well.”

The Seasiders head down to Kent full of confidence on the back of last weekend’s dramatic comeback win against neighbours Fleetwood Town.

Fleetwood looked to be heading for their first ever win against Blackpool when Wes Burns put them ahead with just 15 minutes left.

Viv Solomon-Otabor equalised in the 88th minute before substitute Armand Gnanduillet won it with a stoppage-time header.

The Frenchman, who has scored in consecutive games, now wants the Seasiders to finish the season just as strongly as they did last year.

The 26-year-old said: “It’s always nice to win a football game like this, especially when it’s a local derby. I think we deserved the win as well.

“We’re happy to win but we’re more happy about the way we won.

“When I came on, the gaffer just told me to be ready. I knew, like I do every game, I’d get at least one chance.

“So it was down to me to take it, so I’m happy about this.

“I think we deserved the victory because we played well. The pitch was not easy but I think we still managed to play great football.

“I think we are safe now. We can focus on the next game and look to finish the season strongly, just like last year.”
