He died in hospital on Sunday night at the age of 82.

Peter was instrumental in setting up the local Blackpool and Fylde Sunday Alliance leagues and held a number of committee roles over the years. He later served as Blackpool FC's club secretary.

He was recognised by the Lancashire FA for his 50 years of service to the sport. Such was his dedication, he even had a football ground named in his honour on Common Edge Road, in Marton.

He was also manager of local side Sands FC.

A huge Blackpool fan, Peter was also said to have a soft spot for Everton.
