The Seasiders claimed a 3-2 victory over the Hatters at Bloomfield Road, courtesy of a Mark Cullen hat-trick, before securing their place at Wembley with a 3-3 draw at Kenilworth Road.
In the play-off final, Gary Bowyer’s side were promoted to League One after a 2-1 win against Exeter City.
During that period, the vast majority of Blackpool fans boycotted games in protest of the Oyston ownership. Only 3,882 people in the ground for the first leg victory over Luton, while seats were also left empty for the Wembley clash against The Grecians.
