The striker netted twice last night to take his goals tally to 16 for the season as the Seasiders emerged deserved 3-1 winners at Bloomfield Road, Luke Garbutt scoring the other goal.
Yates’ first came in the opening minute, with the striker powering home from 25 yards, before the 24-year-old completed his brace in the second-half from the penalty spot.

“It’s a massive three points,” Yates said of last night’s win.
“We knew what was at stake before the game, so the lads grafted and put the hard work in and got the three points.
“It was great to get off to such a good start - I think it was actually my first of the season from outside the box! I was buzzing for it to go in.

“Peterborough are a good side going forward, so we knew what to expect and it was a great finish from their lad for their goal.
“But we came out for the second-half with our heads held high and we reacted well.
“We’re on a good run of form at the moment and that’s massive for us. We’re going into games thinking we can play our stuff and win every game.

“We’ve had a few frustrating draws at home in recent weeks, so it was nice to put that right and put in such a good performance.”
