The Dons claimed a first home win of the campaign thanks to Callum Reilly's early strike after just 13 minutes.
The Seasiders, losing for the sixth time already this season, had two players sent off, with Ethan Robson and Dan Ballard both being shown straight red cards.

"The opposition going down to 10 men makes it more difficult sometimes and we just went off track a little bit," Dons boss Hodges said.
"Playing against nine men, that's something we've never had to do before and it made us even more off track.
"A week ago at Hull we had a great performance but didn't get anything, we haven't been anywhere near hitting those levels yet on this occasion we've won the game with the sending offs helping.

"It was about getting that second goal to relax us and calm us down but we couldn't get it, so we looked a little nervous.
"We looked a little naive and off-it at times but we've got away with it and we now move on to Saturday. We've probably got a better return than our performance levels deserved, but we'll take it."
