Blackpool are back: Three years on from the Homecoming that spelled the end of painful fan boycott

Believe it or not, it was three years ago today that Blackpool officially ended their boycott.

Dubbed the ‘homecoming’, the Seasiders packed out Bloomfield Road to witness a dramatic 2-2 draw with Southend United.

A stoppage-time own goal (ironically via future Pool loanee Taylor Moore) earned Terry McPhillips’ side a point, but more importantly caused a huge release of emotion that went far beyond one game of football.
