We’ve witnessed a managerial departure, the return of a familiar face, some gutsy victories and sadly some painful defeats.
With that in mind, we take a look at the six best games of Blackpool’s calendar year and six of the worst...
7. BEST: Coventry City 1-2 Blackpool
The Seasiders built on their derby spoils with another three points at the CBS Arena to make it two wins from two. Jerry Yates was the hero again as Michael Appleton’s side came from behind to claim a deserved victory. Photo: CameraSport - Andrew Kearns
8. WORST: Hartlepool United 2-1 Blackpool
Neil Critchley’s side dished up a woeful display to find themselves on the wrong end of an FA Cup upset at the hands of League Two outfit Hartlepool. Pool squandered a glut of opportunities before allowing the home side to fight back in the second-half to take the win. Photo: CameraSport
9. WORST: Preston 1-0 Blackpool
Any defeat to PNE hurts, but this one was especially painful given the meek manner in which the Seasiders surrendered, failing to even muster a shot on target. A thoroughly miserable night was compounded with the news Dan Grimshaw had been rushed to hospital with a head injury. Photo: CameraSport - Mick Walker
10. WORST: Peterborough 5-0 Blackpool
Blackpool’s hugely encouraging first season back in the Championship ended with an embarrassing thrashing to already relegated Posh. For some inexplicable reason Neil Critchley opted to leave out a number of key first-team players and the Seasiders were made to pay. Photo: CameraSport - Lee Parker
11. WORST: Stoke City 2-0 Blackpool
Michael Appleton suffered his first league defeat in his second stint as Blackpool manager after the Seasiders produced a lacklustre and passive display at the bet365. Post-match Appleton vowed a performance of this nature would never happen again under his tenure. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth
12. WORST: Rotherham 3-0 Blackpool
A month later, the Seasiders would dish up their worst performance of the season to lose comfortably to relegation rivals Rotherham. Blackpool were outplayed in all facets of the game and were fortunate to keep the scoreline respectable. Photo: CameraSport - Lee Parker
