The mood on social media following the latest blow to Blackpool's League One play-off hopes

Frustration was rife inside Bloomfield Road and on social media following Blackpool’s 0-0 draw with Wycombe Wanderers on Easter Monday.

It currently looks likely the Seasiders will spend next season in League One, unless there is a huge swing in the final five games of the current campaign. At the moment, Lincoln City occupy the final play-off spot, with Oxford United just behind them on goal difference. Neil Critchley’s side are now six points off sixth place, and still trail to Stevenage, who are in eighth.

Many supporters now consider Blackpool’s race to be over, with recent form not suggesting a late turnaround, despite still being mathematically possible.

After the Wycombe stalemate, one fan wrote: “85 minutes of rubbish, 15 league games we’ve failed to score in now.”

A second stated: “Tell me to watch paint dry and I wouldn’t see the difference.”

Another added: “Lack of quality, lack of fight, lack of motivation, and another game where the formation doesn’t change when we need to win. We are so static and one dimensional in possession, we haven’t improved all year. Play-offs are now 100% gone.”

A fourth agreed: “There’s no quality up front and no control in midfield. It’s going to take a good summer transfer window to transform this team, and even then I don’t think the manager would get from them what is necessary. Good luck to Oxford and Lincoln, but our season is over.”
