The non-league starlet was one of three arrivals on Friday, the 21-year-old making the move from Northern Premier League Premier Division side Warrington Town.

The goalscoring midfielder arrives on an initial 18-month contract with the option to extend by a further year.

“He’s a young kid who we’ve had watched over the last few weeks and months having had him recommended by people,” Grayson told The Gazette.

“He’s a throwback. He’s had no experience of academy football so he’s basically just a lad that is going to enjoy the ride that we’re going to be on.

“He’s full of enthusiasm and he runs around and kicks people.

“Is he going to be ready for the first-team yet? I don’t know, but what he’ll do is have a spring in his step because he’s desperate to take this opportunity to be a professional footballer."

Garrity has hit doubles figures for Warrington this term, having previously helped the Yellows to divisional play-off success last season
