Simon Grayson speaks of relief as Blackpool finally get back to winning ways wit...

It comes after Armand Gnanduillet netted from 12 yards in Saturday's 2-1 win against Southend United.

The Frenchman, who missed his last penalty in the recent FA Cup game against Reading with a chipped 'panenka', held lengthy negotiations with Jay Spearing prior to dispatching his effort.

This time Gnanduillet opted to go with the tried and trusted route, drilling low into the bottom corner.

Somewhat surprisingly, Grayson revealed post-match he will never tell his players who should or shouldn't be taking spot kicks.

“I’ve never been one to dictate who does this and who does that, it’s up to the players to take responsibility," he said.

“We had two experienced players deciding what we were going to do.

“When Armand decided he was going to take it with Jay probably giving his consent - eventually - all you want to do is see the ball hit the back of the net.

“Thankfully that’s what happened, so we’ll take it.

“If Armand had missed it we would have been having a different type of debate but you have to give players responsibility.”
