The Mechanics have allowed Blackpool to use the club’s Jepson Way ground as a training base for their Under-18 side.

The agreement, which will initially last for three months, is a sign of closer relations between the two clubs.

“The club have been working hard over the past couple of months to improve facilities at the ground and are all delighted to have agreed this deal,” AFC Blackpool said in a statement.

“AFC already have a good relationship with Blackpool FC and hope that this deal will further improve that relationship.”

Blackpool’s Under-18 manager Danny Ventre says his players are looking forward to getting to work in their new home.

“We look forward to being able to use the facilities at AFC Blackpool,” he added.

“We have a great relationship with the club and staff at AFC Blackpool and I believe it will only flourish with the time we spend there.

“Everybody at the club, especially Martin Baird and Alan have been so helpful in catering for our needs whilst planning the season ahead.

“On behalf of Blackpool Football Club, I would like to thank everybody who was involved.

“I would like to wish Martin and his staff and players all the luck in the world for their own new season and hopefully we can help out in any way possible.”
