Charlton Athletic 0-3 Blackpool: Jerry Yates nets two penalties as Seasiders cru...

The 20-year-old ran the Addicks ragged all afternoon, using his strength and pace to good effect during Blackpool’s dominant 3-0 victory.

The Everton loanee was involved in Blackpool’s first of two penalties, having been hauled to the ground inside the box by Deji Oshilaja after latching onto Sullay Kaikai’s clever through-ball.

While Simms was unable to find the back of the net, he provided a perfect foil for Jerry Yates, who bagged a brace thanks to his two spot kicks.

“Ellis was a real handful, him and Jerry were to be fair,” Critchley said.

“We thought we could get some success against their two centre-backs and we were searching for balls down the sides of them and in behind them.

“I thought he was a real handful all game, a real physical presence for us and he caused them a lot of problems.
