With Lancashire remaining in Tier 3, Blackpool's game will continue to be played behind closed doors.

That will continue until December 16 at the earliest, which is when the government will review its Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.

With Blackpool welcoming Slaven Bilic's Premier League outfit to the Fylde coast on Saturday, January 9, Critchley is hopeful the game could be played in front of a limited number of Seasiders.

“It’s nice to be at home, no travelling for a change," Critchley told The Gazette, when asked about Pool's third round draw.

“It’s a great draw, it would be fantastic if we could have some supporters in here because there would be a fantastic atmosphere.

“There’s plenty of games between now and then but it’s a great game for us to look forward to.”

In other news, young Blackpool midfielder Cameron Antwi has joined National League North side Southport on loan until mid-January.

The 19-year-old, who made his Blackpool debut in the recent EFL Trophy win against Leeds United's Under-21s, will look to gain some valuable first-team experience.

“It’s something we’ve been looking at for a while," Critchley said.

“He was excellent against Leeds in the EFL Trophy the other week and like Nathan Shaw (who is on loan at AFC Fylde), he needs to go and play regular football now.

“It’s a really good move for him, a good standard, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how he does.”
