He last signed for Blackpool from Swindon Town in January 2017 and agreed another two-year deal last summer.

He had two loan spells at Bloomfield Road (2012-14) while with Aston Villa, then became a Blackpool player for the club's last Championship season (2014-15) before moving on to Blackburn Rovers.

Last season he played 35 times in all competitions, scoring seven goals.

Blackpool chief executive Ben Mansford told the club website: “Nathan’s service to Blackpool Football Club over the years has been fantastic and he has played a big part in the club’s recent history.

"Nathan has been a pleasure to have around the club during his time in tangerine. His work both on and off the field has always been appreciated, particularly with our Community Trust, where Nathan has always shown his support for all of their initiatives.

“We thank him for all of his efforts at the club, and along with everyone connected to the club, wish Nathan the very best for the future.”

Bolton head coach Evatt said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Nathan Delfouneso to the football club.

“Nathan has a great pedigree and is a top, top player at this level. He brings pace and quality to the side and we are excited to see what he and Eoin (Doyle) can do as a forward partnership.”

Delfouneso told the Bolton Wanderers website: “I’m delighted to sign for a club of this magnitude and with the history that it’s got.

“The things that have been said to me by the staff here and the faith they’ve put in me was a big factor in me coming here.

“Hearing the ambition the club has and what they want to achieve going forward is exciting. It’s almost like a reset button has been pressed and I can only see the club going in one direction.”
