Blackpool v Blackburn Rovers: Live updates

Key Events

  • FT: Blackpool 0-1 Blackburn Rovers
  • Game kicks off in front of the Sky Sports cameras at 8pm
  • Ian Poveda available to play, Josh Bowler expected to start

Shayne Lavery skips past his marker down the left with a lovely nutmeg before his cross is cleared away.

Blackpool remain in possession though.

A comfortable early save for Dan Grimshaw, as Ryan Hedges shoots straight at the Blackpool keeper from range.

Good early tempo to this one.

Shayne Lavery is tripped by Tyler Morton, giving Blackpool a free-kick in a good crossing position.

Kenny Dougall to take.

Kenny Dougall’s deep free-kick is a good one but it’s punched away well by the keeper.

Josh Bowler then wins Pool a throw-in by the other side.

11 - Poor refereeing

That's an odd one from the ref, pulling the play back for a free-kick when Jerry Yates had just played in Shayne Lavery. Had to play advantage.

Josh Bowler's low drilled effort appears to be heading in but it rifles into teammate Rhys Williams.

Good start from the Seasiders, with the vast majority of football being played in Blackburn's half.

16 - GOAL BLACKBURN (0-1)

I spoke too soon.

Blackpool caught out by one simple ball down the middle of the pitch, which is tucked away by Brereton-Diaz.

A goal out of nothing for the away side.

Gary Madine loops a header wide from Kenny Dougall’s corner.

It looked like it might drop for Jerry Yates at the back post but he couldn’t quite reach to steer it goalwards.

That goal has allowed Blackburn to settle after they had looked a little shaky in the early stages.

Goalscorer Brereton-Diaz, meanwhile, goes into the book for a cynical trip on Shayne Lavery.
