Depleted and patched-up Blackpool saw off crisis club Wigan Athletic in emphatic style last night to record their first victory of 2021.

1. Chris Maxwell - 7/10

Made a vital save at the start of the second-half to keep Pool two goals ahead. Quick throw-outs helped launch attacks.

Never stopped with his driving runs forward and was involved in a lot of Blackpool’s good attacking play.

Got Pool off the mark with his first goal for the club. Defensively solid throughout and aerially dominant.

Did himself no harm once again. Showed good positioning, intercepted well and even helped set up attacks.

Great run and cross for Blackpool’s superb third goal. Defensively sound and supported well down the left.

Broke up play well and had a zip to his passes. Got stuck in with some tough challenges as well.
